Hygie Box is modular, smart, and easy to use. It can be assembled in different configurations depending on the type of litter you choose. The same components are used across multiple setups, supporting cat parents who use plant-based, clumping litters; those who mix mineral litters with high-quality biodegradable litters; and those who prefer wood pellets. If you decide to switch to a different type of litter, you can reuse the parts you already have, simply reconfigure Hygie Box for the new setup. Hygie Box was designed to prioritize cats’ safety and well-being, eliminating the common risks associated with automated litter boxes. Hygie Box is stationary and does not use electricity, ensuring complete safety for cats.
Cattus used bacterial Colony-Forming Unit counts (CFU) known in Portuguese as UFC (Unidades Formadoras de Colônias) in cat litter to evaluate the hygiene performance of cat bathrooms.
The Veterinary Bacteriology Laboratory (LaBacVet) at the School of Veterinary Medicine of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) assessed Hygie Box’s hygiene performance, and the results were very positive. In conventional litter boxes, CFU counts can reach up to 28,000 CFU; with Hygie Box, those counts did not reach 100 CFU. The difference in hygiene between the two solutions is significant, Hygie Box provides a much more hygienic, healthier environment for both cats and their cat parents. The tests were conducted using Hygie Box Mic and Hygie Box Kim.
